Zelda's Pups Update

Here is an update on Zelda's litter. I have 2 blacks and 3 whites. The whites could be PEW, REW or DTW... they are just being a pain so I can't figure thing out... they want to drive me crazy!!! LOL Well, anyway... they are adorable little things, and here is the proof:


I have 4 females and 1 male. The male is one of the whites.


Look! Almost no white on the chin!

i love baby gerbils! they look so cute! i never seen a black gerbil with no white on his/her chin! cute!! i love black gerbils but the white ones are looking sooooo cute!! awww

Yeah, all my baby black gerbils have been bibless... I thought it was normal till I started meeting other breeders (on the net) and learning more about the show standards and colors and stuff. It's so odd, but all the blacks my gerbils have had have been bibless. The bib is caused by a modifying gene, if you have a gerbil with a big bib, if bred to a spotted/pied/mottled gerbil will produce more mottling. One of my breeding pairs have given me bibless blacks/slates and 1 lightly mottled pup, which I also thought was odd... but my gerbils have odd genetics.. so... LOL
