Dangers Of Vermiculite

Not sure if this is where I'd post this, but here goes.

There's evidence to support vermiculite contains a dangerous, asbestos-like substance that can cause lung problems in humans. Here's a link to some info on it. I know many people use it in their vivariums. This new found info is already addressed in the general care of tarantulas article at tarantulas.com too. Better change your substrate.

Thanks for the info.

I've never liked vermiculite. Long ago I changed just about every invertebrate I have to cypress mulch. I like it MUCH better!

Thank you.

I almost ended up using this as a whole substrate for my Grammotsola Rosea tarantula. Ended up with peat moss instead.
