Finally a no drip water bottle!
I use to use normal water bottles for my bunnies, but had to switch to a bowl because when I got Barnaby, for some reason he couldn't get the water to come out of the bottle - he couldn't move those little ball things to make the water come out. Also, Zeus use to chew on the metal part of the bottle to try to get the water to come out faster and I didn't want him to break his teeth or something.
But I didn't really like using bowls either because the water would get dirty really fast and I'd have to change it a couple of times a day. Zeus likes to play in the water, so he sticks his paws/butt into the bowl and also he use to drop toys and food into the water.
So finally I found a diffrent kind of water bottle and decided to try it. Here it is in the two diffrent sizes:
http://www.leithpetwerks.com/prodpag...rod_code=WB370
http://www.leithpetwerks.com/prodpag...rod_code=WB380
Instead of having the little balls that the animal moves to get the water, there is a tiny metal lever that they nudge with their mouth or tongue to get the water to come out. Even little Barnaby, who couldn't get water out of the normal bottles, figured out how to use this one in less than a day. The water comes out slightly faster than other water bottles, so Zeus doesn't get mad and bite the metal.
And when they say no drips, really it doesn't drip! The only time the water comes out is when the lever is nudged. If it does drip, it means that something is probably stuck in the lever system and you can take it all apart to clean it out if a small piece of sediment from medication or something gets in and makes it drip. I like that you can take the lever system apart and clean everything, than put it back together.
The top has a cover that flips open so you can pour fresh water in without even taking the bottle off the cage. Just be careful, because the cover does have a small vent in it so don't tip it over while it's full of water.
And if it doesn't work for you for some reason, it does come with a one year warrenty from the manufacturer.
I got the bottle for my bunnies, and the site is a site that sells rabbit stuff - but the instructions with the bottle say that they work for all small animals. I figured I'd post it because I've seen a couple of posts before of people complaining about water bottles leaking and so far this bottle has been working great for me!

A lot of people swear by water buddies. I was actually going to recommend one until I saw thats what you were talking about! I haven't gotten around to ordering one yet.
The only problem I heard is that you have to kind of teach the pet to use it, they might not get it right away. A good idea would to put some kind of water source in there near the water buddy so they will always have water if they don't figure it out.
I have a no drop bottle that has a little lever on it that I bought from petco. I can't remember the name of it. That bottle is kind of the same also, I had to teach the rats how to use it.

Yeah you do have to teach them how to use it, it gives you tips for teaching them with the instructions.
I did keep my bunnies bowl in the cage for awhile to make sure they had water even if they didn't figure the bottle out. However, both my rabbits were drinking from the bottle the first day I put it in their cage, so that really wasn't much of an issue for me - they didn't seem to have a problem learning how to use it.

I have an Edstrom bottle for one of my chinchillas. It took her a lil bit to get use to it but I absolutely LOVE it. I am going to be ordering two more once I get the money.

Here's a link to where I got my Edstrom bottle.
http://www.chinworld.com/Merchant2/m...gory_Code=CW12
They have 8oz and 16oz, also they have a bottle guard for any chewers, especially if you've got chinnies with this bottle. I've found that it keeps the bottle in place a little better also.

I don't know about bunnies, but the little lever ones are not recommended for piggies because it can hurt their tongue.
