Bald spot help!!

Ok yesterday when lifting Nacho out i noticed a large bald spot just below his rump on his back, its al dry and flaky but with no hair on it at all, i have noticed him itching for a few days but just thought nothing of it as i couldnt see any obvious signs, but now theres this huge spot and hes itching at it more! You see his hair goes in a weird shape and it is was hard to spot, but closer view and it is deffo flaky with dry skin falling from it. Could anyone help, i need to wait a few days to get him to a vet as im actually pretty ill myself! So if anyone could give me some advice while awaiting the vet?
Thanks

It's actually called the 'grease gland', and they use that secretion to mark territory. You'll notice sometimes that they're rumblestrut (make a purring sound while waggling their bottom) and will drag their bottom on the ground.
