bald spots

Hi, I'm new here and I'm inquiring about problems with my kids' piggy. We've had him for 3 to 4 years and we never had any problems. In the last few weeks he's been having these really big poops, almost the size of a golf ball, but it consists of all little soft poops. He's also having another problem with 2 bald spots on his back.

Anyone have any idea what these 2 problems can be?

I plan on bringing him to the vet in the next day or two, but I was hoping someone with experience could help.

Thanks so much!!!!!!

Cheryl from NJ

Yes, please get the piggie to the vet.

The bald spots could be mites, or other parasites. That would require treatment from a veterinarian.

Would anyone know what would be causing his other problem?

He's doing well, thanks for asking!!:blob3:

A friend of mine knows someone who has been working with the 4-H for a long time, so we brought him to her house. He was impacted and I have been squeezing the stuff out for awhile. She did the same and soaked his butt in betadine. She also gave him a shot for the mites.

I'll keep you updated on his progress.

Thanks for caring!

Cheryl

Good to hear he seems better. Here is a page that tells about cleaning boars pouches that might be helpful... http://guinealynx.info/impaction.html
