Hubby has asked that I don't get anymore piggies for awhile. But after getting this email from the lady who runs the piggie rescue in town, how can I NOT bring home the gray-haired one??
"I will warn you, though, when you see the two cuties I got yesterday (girls) you are going to have a hard time not taking one home. One is black and the other is grayish--with a little bit longer hair. Real sweethearts. I estimate about 2 months old."
Anybody wanna talk me out of this??
Or does anybody have a good excuse for me to give my husband?!!
Good excuse number one, there was no room at the shelter and they were going to be put down. Works everytime.
Ummmm.... They told me they wanted to go home with me and I couldn't resist. No, that won't work, tried it, however the pig stayed.
Just bring them home and hope he doesn't notice the herd expanded, they will be in quarantine in another room, so he won't know about them til it's to late.
Let us know what you decide to do....

Hummm... Well I don't know what to think! I can not imagine a single cavy that I could walk away from, but how much does dear hubby not want anymore? I hate to offer bad advice!
Well, he asked that I don't get anymore until I at least figure out what I'm going to be doing with school and career. He's afraid that if I continue with school that the pigs will take up precious study time. Huh -- they run around for 2 hours every night while I'm studying (in the same room), they get their cages cleaned every Saturday (takes less than an hour), and they get loving sitting in my lap while studying. What's one more piggie??
We have a one-story house and he would definitely notice another piggie. Especially during the quarantine weeks...I just want the gray one so badly!!
Have you figured out what you want to do for school yet? It is so hard to come up with something.:read: I am still wondering what I want to do!I think it has to do with animals but what exactly I haven't commited to...
I says just bring them both home quietly. Then one day exclaim in a surprised voice "OMG honey, where did these 2 pigs come from?! Are these part of my christmas present surprise you've been talking about?!!" Of course, you must give him the big wide-eyed surprised expression.
Well whatever you do, don't promise him these will be your last ones. I did that back in May, and now the opportunity has come up to add another one to my herd. So I'm in the same boat as you.
I will tell you what I have done so far though. I cleaned out the extra cage I have and put it next to the other two. I think if he gets used to seeing it there he won't be too surprised if there is an occupant some time in the next two weeks.
The kids keep asking me if I told *dad* yet. When the time is right!
I like the Christmas surprise idea and not enough room at the shelter.
Okay, I'm going to get her! Thing is I've already told DH I'm bringing her home. I think he realizes by now that I'm a lost cause when it comes to piggies.
I love these excuses, though!! I'll post pigtures as soon as I possibly can!
