Excess Water Consumption

I know that it can be a sign of several problems, but how much is too much? what's the normal for one guinea pig?

It's hard to say what is normal... every guinea pig is different. I do know that some days my little butt head likes to play with his water bottle. He doesn't actually drink it, he just clinks at it for fun, and lets the water drool down his chin and make a mess. Then, of course, I have to clean his cage and give him attention. Dang gimme pigs. Gimme food, gimme water, gimme attention... weet weet.

My foster,Stuart does that.He will clink away at the water bottle to make noise...I have watched him do it before and he isn't actually drinking.Heh... He just wants attention.

Check for leaks.
I remember my old pig Apolla seemed to be drinking ALOT.But then I was noticing the cage bottom was wet and upon further inspection the bottle was leaking.

However if it is not leaking, then I think thats ALOT of water for a pig to be drinking.
