my guinea pigs

I haven't been here for a while, I haven't had any pets.
However, today I got another two guinea-pigs.

They're both boys. I've always found the boys a lot more laid back in the past.

Reasonably old. I would say 3-4 months.

With respect to buying them I've done everything wrong. They were something of an impulse buy, and I've been told I'm not allowed to bring anymore pets home.

However, my parents seem to be accepting the news that they have new additions, and I had lined up an alternative home if they really couldn't live with it.

They're quite sweet little things, currently settling in in my room.
I've had guinea pigs before. We got a bit carried away and ended up with about 17 (max of 8 at anyone time) last time. This time I have two male guinea-pigs, and neither space nor intention to get more.

They're currently nameless. They will probably be called brown guinea pig and grey guinea pig. They do need names as well, but we tend not to use those.

Photos may come later.

They're now Grecian (as in grecian 2000, as he's a bit grey) and hairdo, for the crested one.

They're begining to settle in. Grecian is quite laid back, likes parsley, will relax for parsley, and beg for parsley, and hunt for parsley.

Hairdo is a little more jumpy. He's begining to get the idea though,

The pigs continue to do well, tonighht they're out and eating while I chat and watch them. They squabble a bit and tend not to stay sat together so I've acquired a second shelter for them.

they're not at at all convinced about being picked up, but they;re otherwise curious as opposed to scared, with the exception of when they're downstairs, when they'll relax and sleep, but also go watchful if people move around and i've had a couple of panics from them that I don't really understand, no loud tv, people movement, etc to cause it. I have the scratches from that as grecian tried to cllaw his way into my shoulder. but got him calm and eating quickly enough. Just need to work out what spooked him to avoid repetition.

I've lived here for years, so background noises for me will go unnoticed.

My guinea pig, Meredith (A.K.A. Chubbles) was the first pet I had and we definatly bought her on impulse! One morning we drove to the SPCA and took once glance at her and knew that we wanted to keep her. <3

I'll post some pictures soon!

yeah, he's just crested, I suspect with a name like that you might have been expecting something more punk like. It's strange, he's actually the picture of Phoebe who was the second guinea-pig I owned. I hadn't noticed until I saw the photos, but they are actually identical.

She died about 10 years ago.
