here's our new boar, I-Ron (aka Ronnie)
he's a black agouti american cavy. I have never seen one in person, and trust me the pictures do him NO justice! His muzzle and legs are solid black, but the ticking in his coat is just so GORGEOUS! He is glossy and looks almost metallic, and he's SO mellow! Just 4 months old, too.
And here is our older cavy, Tipper. We adopted her with another cavy about 2 months ago, and they were supposed to be two females... well, once we got them home we figured out that her original cagemate was a MALE, and now Tipper is VERY pregnant... Sadly her cagemate (we named him Al) was a MUCH older cavy, and passed away shortly after we adopted them.
I believe she's carrying three, as I believe I've palpated three pelvises, but I can only find two skulls so I'm not sure. I hope she's got at least one boy and one girl in there, so that we can give Ronnie a buddy once they're weaned. We have them in
separate cages that are butted up against each other right now, so they're not completely without companionship...
