Sexing your guinea pig

Since it seems many people have trouble telling the sex of a guinea pig I thought I would share this link that I found the most useful when I needed to sex my baby cavies. Since you cannot go by the nipples alone since like humans both boars and sows have them, you need to carefully look at the genetalia and in smaller guinea pigs pry them open to make sure you have yourself a sow or a boar.

This is a good thing to look at if you are going to buy a guinea pig for the first time, because there are pet stores that can't tell the sex of a guinea pig at a couple weeks old. When I got Jack, they didn't have a clue.
