Question

Shampoo ??

I have seen the cute little pigtures of bath time on this board and they are just adorable!! I bathed all 4 of mine yesterday but didn't even think to take pics. I will next time!!

What kind of shampoo does everyone use? I use Herbal Essence and while it smells good for a day, it doesn't last long at all. They don't go back to being stinky, it's just that the good shampoo smell is gone.

Does everyone blow dry their babies? My Spot used to loooove that blow dryer. He'd nuzzle his sweet little head against my chest and just purrrrr away... RIP, dear Spot :lilangel:

Hey SP, I'm just about done with work for today ~ yeh!!!

I bought Four Paws brand Bunny Bath for my girls. It's mild and won't lead to dry skin (supposedly). It smells good, but doesn't last long.

The best thing I found to keep the pigs smelling "fresh" is to give them a fabric tunnel fresh outta the dryer after I used fabric softner on them. April freshness

I use the hair drier to get them started on their way to being dry, but then just put them in the "hot" room and watch them shake it off! That's so much fun!! I make sure all butts and bellies are completely dry though before they go back to their cages.

SP, you may want to ditch the herbal essence for the pigs. While it smells really nice, it's not PH balanced for the sensitive skin of the cavies and can rob their fur and skin of the natural oils that they need.

Try the bunny bath like Jenn mentioned, or any other small animal shampoo should work.

two others I've seen recomended are called HyLyt and Epi-Soothe

Mine get washed in bunny shampoo too. Sno pig really likes to go out to the warmest heater in the building wrapped up in a dry towel after his bath. He will lay there and nap while people are coming in and going out by us talking about how cute he is.
