Question

Wire size for babies...

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering about wire size for baby pigs??? What are the minimum spacing measurements required so that babies don't try and escape?

Thanks,
John & Zoo (chins, pigs & kids)

From personal experience I would go with something smaller than one inch. I had baby pigs get out thru 1 inch spacing height wise. The rectangles made by the bars on my cage are 1 X 2. I took care of the situation by putting a three inch heigh piece of cardboard around the bottom until they were big enough not to escape.

baby pigs can get through VERY small spaces. It's best to have something solid around the cage sides that is at least 6 inches in height
