hi there!

i recently bought a female rat named buttler and i have had her for about 2 weeks and i was thinking about getting another

HOWEVER in about 3 weeks i will be leaving for europe (booyah) and i will be there for three weeks (and buttler will be staying with a friend who has owned multiple rats before) so i was wonderring should i get a rat before and after i leave for europe?

and if i do get another rattie would it be much harder to take care of?

umm really it should be just as easy to take care of two, and i suggest not letting yours play with hers if she has any, as they should be quarantined for about 2 weeks to make sure they would spread illness.

talk to your friend and see what she is willing to care for... you will quarantine the new one for 2 two weeks too so if you get it soon.

Yep, if you get another rat now they will just have begun to live together when you leave. If the other rat is young like this one, there probably won't be problems introducing them. It's just something to consider.

another thing to consider is you will miss them grow for a bit and those 3 weeks of baby growing are supper fun

but you can always get another later

getting one when you come back from your trip would be good I think. I use qt time to personally bond with them. lots and lots of one on one time
