Question

Arther and HIS food...

well as most of you know I have 2 new rats that I got at the weekend & they are sooo beautiful, sweet and cuddly.
I would not change them for the world, but I have a problem with Arther...

Arther seems to strangly be spending 20-30mins in the food bowl, without stopping for breath and just eating and eating and well, eating! Im finding this quite unusual, however, that is not the end of it...
He also seems to be food aggresive! I put my hand in his cage to pick him up, snuggle with him and in general handle him so he is handlable for the future, and this was when he was eating which he had been for half an hour and thought that was enough, but he tryed biteing me! It does not hurt too much, I do stay calm and just leave him. I did also make sure that he was not just a nipper and went to pick him up when no food was about and I could with no problems, so while he is young I wanted to know if there is any way of trying to help this food aggression, also if any one else has experianced this and what they did?

I want all my rats to get the same amount of food though and I dont want to keep filling up the food bowl if its going to be gone in an hour, please help if you can or just give some advice...

I dont want to end up with a diabetic or obese rat... could he be diabetic?
thanks in advance.

i'm not sure what to do about this. what i would do personally, is refill the food bowls by hand. take a fist of food, put your hand in the cage, if he bites, take food hand out. repeat. i'd think he'll learn not to bite the hand that feeds

haha, lol!
He is doing just fine! It seems like the more we handle him the better he gets, which is good! He never ever draws blood so everything is going great, hopefully he will grow out of it anyway because I also get the impression that it is his 'baby play' if ya get me lol!
thanks for your help!!
