Birthday Cake

I think my girls are going to be turning a year old in August (when i got them, i was told they were around a month old and that was in the beginning of sept., last year).
Can anybody give me a safe rattie birthday cake recipe.
Thank you!

What I do for my girlies is make a carrot cake or angel food cake batter and then put a bit into a cupcake pan! I give them a lil icing, but not too much. Then you can bake the rest for yourself or somebody that would like it.

Why? What's wrong with angel food cake?

The sugar in it.
Too much sugar is not good for rats.
I would go with carrot cake too.

However I admit,I have given my rats cookies and cupcakes for their birthdays! It is a treat...I rarely do that tho.

I think it's fine for them to have a very small amount of stuff like that. Just like us, too much sugar is not good for them. They are much smaller than we are, so a whole cookie to them is like an entire cake to us. If you give them stuff like that, really just one or two small bites is plenty.

Would a Weight Watchers Carrot Cake be ok? It's only 1pt (lol)! and it's good for people.
