Cage Clean-Up Question
Lily is a MESSY EATTER. There's food crumbs all over. I just try to sweep them all together using a little towel and pick them up and a little bit at a time to drop in the trash can when I'm cleaning her cage. That takes forever. Does anybody have any suggestions!
I'm glad I put her in the smaller cage.. lol

well, you could place a page of news paper where she eats so all you have to do is fold over the peice of news paper and replace with a fresh peice... unless she or one of your other rats will drag the news paper else where or shred it up like mine lol

Well, I only have two and they're in separate cage... but yeah, Lily would definately drag it around and shred it to pieces. So, I don't think that would work.

She brings the food to another level and the crumbs are just everywhere. The levels are solid, not wires. The bowl is in a hole that's made for the food bowl.

No, it does sound like a good idea.. but Lily would shred it up and that would give me more to clean.

I'm assuming your using fleece?
When I had fleece in my cage when the rats were out for playtime I'd use a dust vac to get up all the stray poops and crumbs.

Huh? Using fleece for what? I just have plain plastic levels...
This is what Lily (the messy eater) is in: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2753300 no wheel. there's like a moat sorta thing that goes around each level and thats where i have the problem cleaning the crumbs out of... i usually just get a towel and go thru the moat sorta thing and pick the crumbs out a little bit at a time with the towel and drop it in a trash can.
This is what Daisy (non-messy eater is in, no problem with her): http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2753352

Why are they seperated? Just use some baby wipes to get the crumbs out. That's what I did when I had superpet cages

your rats would love to be together, can you use a small dustpan and brush?
