Definitely a no no, Rats shouldn't have people food, especially (no offence) Junk food.

No.Do not feed your rats anything salty, spicy or sugary.

They CAN have some "people" foods though, like veggies and whatnot.I give mine abit of bread or non-salted crackers or rice...things like that they can have.

keep it in moderation....If you want to give them a salted peanut then leave it at that for awhile.
I have to admit that I give my rats some "salted" food but it is VERY moderated. My butters got a french fry the other night from mcdonalds....He got just a piece of one and he hasn't one one in MONTHS if you know what I mean.

The KEY is moderation.

Giving your rat a salted peanut every one in a while will not kill him or make him sick, but they are definitely not good for him. He will be just as enthusiastic about a healthier treat, like carrot or some cheerios, so I would just stick with that.

My boys loooove baby carrots! Those are a healthy snack and they look so cute when they hold them with their little hands. They are adorable and ratty sized.

I avoid salted foods.
I admit I have given mine a piece of cookie or something for special occassions...but it shouldn't be all the time.Too much sugar, salt or spice isn't good for them. But peanust are very fattening for rats and I would also give them unsalted or roasted, instead of a salted one.
