my rats love cherries! but i take the cherry apart so they dont eat try to eat the pit thing..

I gave my rats cherries and they absolutley love them, but I'll make sure not to feed too many, they're high in sugar right?

Yes,cherries are pretty high in sugar,so they are good as an occassional treat.

Too many cherries might give them diarrhea...that's what happened with my mice, anyway.

I took the advice given to the author of this thread and used cherries as a one-time treat for my baby ratties taking their meds so well. I have never seen such a reaction! I turned around and they were just gone! And there were these bright red stains on their noses and front paws like they had just really dived into them. Apparently cherries are rat crack!
