Corncob Bedding?
What are your opinions???
I just picked up a large bag of this, because it is cage cleaning day and everywhere is out of aspen,I called around.I was kind of desperate and there was also no carefresh in the one store I was at.All they had was corncob bedding.I heard this stuff is good and so I bought some.
I have not used it yet,I am going to do my cages now in a few minutes...but what do you think of it? It says it is absorbing, but it don't look it to me!

I use it some times for my pets litter boxes. Its not really adsorbant or anyhting, and I like the wood pellets alot better.

I've used it, ..it can grow mold when it gets wet. I won't use it again.

We used it for our guinea pigs and one of our guinea pigs died from eating it - it was a horrible experience to go through and I would never use it or recommend it ever again. I'd get some other bedding ASAP and throw the corn cob out.

I used it for the rats and mice (didn't for the hamster and guinea pig)...and well it seemed okay, until my beloved ratty Armand died the other day.He was only about 2,so I wonder if he digested some, since he was perfectly fine before.
Either way I switched and will NOT be using this again!
I should of listened to what some of you said...but I thought my rats would be fine with it.

I feel it kind of was, because even tho there was bad things said,I still used it anyway, because I wanted to make my own judgement.I heard half good things and half bad things and that is why I used it.
But your right,now I know!!

I'd heard similar things of it... it's notorious for killing birds, as the pieces are very sharp and tear up the insides. It also isn't very absorbent and tends to mold easily.
