I have a 9" diameter Super Pet Roll-A Nest for my rats that I have hanging from the top of thier cage that they absolutely love! Sometimes they all pile in it together. It's so cute to see all thier little noses and tails sticking out! Anyway, here's a link so you can look at them online.

Edited for spelling.

my rats love mineral cones, I also have look-out corners in their cage, tents, hamocks, wooden box homes (those are one of their favs), they love to eat and dig for sprouts, I have a chinchilla sandbox, chew tubes for rats, and sweet dreams cotton bedding (the colored kind, they love to sleep in it)..
hope this helps

I get my rats those kitty "jingle balls", the ones that don't have holes in them, as the rats can chew them. They love rolling them around their cage and love the jingle noise!
I also go to the bird department and get them different bird toys, like ropes, wooden boxes and bells and they love them!

Oh yeah,I made a few to hold themover 'til I can buy shiney new stuff.
I threw in a paper bag with some torn newspaper, a couple of chinese food cartons, washed their hammock and hung it up for them, dug out a couple of ferret tubes and their knobbly chew toy they ignore completely.
Now the paper bag is trampled soggy and gone, along with the newspaper, and chinese food cartons and the hammock is chewed up something good. The tubes are still there, but they're rather boring, they just use them for hide outs.
Knobbly toy is still hanging up as new as the day I bought it.

Yeah, it's my guess that the bits of wood are too large for them and they rather not open their mouth wide enough to give it a good chewin'
They prefer easier prey...like soft cloth hammocks.

What I got:
Chew tub with fluffy stuff
Two story mouse house
three toy mice (two for the rats, one for one of the mice)
Grass ball den thingy
Cheese wedges rat treats
15 pounds of rodent food (a mixture of lab blocks, reggie rat and katyee's fiesta)
Fluff for the mice
Mouse book
27.5 liters of bedding, Soft sorbent.
So far, the rats really loved the toy mice, they clutched them close to their chests and ran off as soon as I gave it to them. Btw, these mice have feathers for tails, so there's some extra fun there XD
So far, everything has been ignored, but they did manage to get ahold of the bag that everything came in and shred that up some.
My mouse loves his house, I put some sunflower seeds in the little rooms, and he shoved his fluff in his little lookout room.
The bedding is a little messier, but luckily my dust buster works just fine.
this all cost me around 80 dollars 8D
Oh Fubie, when will you ever learn to budget your money?
