Everything i looked up tells me that it is barbering. I just hope it doesn't continue for too long, Aurora is so cute, and missing random chunks of hair sorta messes with her image. today i will let them freely interact on my bed. (i.e. not holding Lily). I'll tell tomorrow how it went.

Yesterday i did what i said, right after I wrote the message. I looked at Lily and told her that she had better be nice. Then i stood over my bed where i let them freely interact...and it went beautifully! Lily sniffed Aurora for a few minutes and then decided she wasn't much and moved on, and each time i placed her back, she sniffed and then left. I was so excited, and this morning i took a whole role of them, (together and seperate) it's absolutely adorable. I can't believe how well they have hit it off since then. Tonight i cleaned out Lily's cage and then put them both in it at the same time. I'm really happy that it has worked out, and i will post the pics, (the whole role) as soon as I get them developed and on a CD.

Ok... I'm really dissappointed by the poor quality of the pictures, i would have thought for sure that they would turn out well since they were not digital, but they are bad quality...i guess i will need to take some more with a digital camera...when Anne lets me borrow hers. (P.S. don't try to enlarge them, they just look worse)
the first is called "Aurora with missing fur", because if you look really hard and use your imagination, you can see the bald spots on her side, eventhough the pic is POOR quality.
The second is called "Hi" because she looked up at the right time to look innocent and curious.
The third is called "Just cleaning up" because Aurora is washing herself.
The fourth is called "Lily, what are you doing?" because Lily is afraid of the camera and was trying to climb right into the jacket over the chair, and Aurora was looking at her wiht a funny expression.
More are coming, but it won't let me post them at this time, until i find a way to shrink the KB down to or less than 60...now many are at 250 or so...so it may take a while to get them all formatted, but as i do it, i will post them and descriptions.

"What is that light" featuring Aurora, amazed at the brightness of the flash.
"Get me out of here" featuring Lily, who is camera shy and attempting to excape the phot session by "dissappearing" into the backdrop.

"Hide me" Aurora is startled by the flash and runs behind Lily.
"Lily and Chad" Lily was playing with my brother, Chad.
"What are you looking at?" Aurora was still unsure of the bright light flashing at her.
"Aurora hanging with Terry" Aurora was having a ball, crawling all ove rmy other brother, Terry.
"Hide me, not so good" Aurora is hiding behind Lily, and starting to peek out, but it was too close, and it was fuzzy.

"Aurora behind Lily" shows the first picture I took of them together, and their both initial shoch from the flash going off.
"Hide" Shows Lily's protective instincts to protect Aurora from the light.
"Aurora peeking out" Shows how curious rats are about new circumstances.
"I got your tail" was when Lily got scared and jumped up into the jacket and Aurora tried to chew on Lily's tail.

Ok these are the last of them.
"Lily over Aurora" the first, and the cutest of my baby pictures. the flash messed up the colors, so i went to grey scale. Aurora is hiding under Lily.
"Suit yourself" Lily walked towards me after the pictures, not bothering to wait for Aurora to finish washing her face.
"Lily with Chad" not to be confused with "Lily AND Chad" They were hanging out, and as usual Lily has to be the center of attention and always know what's going on.
"Wait, Where are you going?" I love this scene, Lily got afraid of the camera and climbed right into the jacket on the chair and left Aurora confused and trying to follow.
"I wanna see!" Lily always HAS to know what is going on. SO she streaches herself out to see.

Thanks. Those are my girls...yeah, the tininess (is that even a word?) was my biggest concern about those two. Luckily they have been getting along great. They started sleeping in the same cage yesterday. It's so funny to see them together, Lily reminds me of a babysitter. Lily will be trying to look at something (up on her back legs) and Aurora will come barreling right through her legs to see what Lily's looking at. When i let them on my bed, Lily walks and Aurora walks underneath her, like in "Lily over Aurora". Gotta go cook now, but i'll be on tomorrow.

I didn't read all the posts yet, but it seems you got a four week old rat. First of all, that is too young. Why didn't you do quarintine? That would help. Your rats don't like each other because of improper introductions.
