decorating a new cage to the boys - Paw Talk

Hi

quick question. I want to hang ropes in the boys cage as 'ramps'. Basically for climbing to the next level. Are the bird ropes and/or the dog pull toy ropes safe for ratties.

i get worried that they will chew them and get strings wraped around their feet and things, i have a parrot ladder thats wood for my level things.. i think the rope would be fine as long as it is 100% natural, and i would stay away from the breath freshener dog toys

I'm not sure if you could do this or not but Hemp is natural (as far as I know) You could probably buy some and make your own ropes. As long as it's not dyed hemp....Not sure though..I hope someone else can help you out more..

wow found a GREAT dog pull toy/rope made from fleece. We put fleece in our hammocks. I just love the thing. I also bought a few parrot ladders. I had intended to to that but wanted to do some other fun things for the boys. they have those ferret funnels as one ramp. They, obviously, aren't in the cage yet but we've let them have test run. So far so good. Well they showed me some probs with the set up last night sooooo had to unzip tie a few levels and move a few things around.....

I tried post pix of the rats/and cage earlier but the 'puter did a 'puter thing

I put the boys in around noon. The cage is really big 30X15X55. it is going to be great for the 5 mush heads

The cage calc says it would 9 so who knows, I may sneak a couple of more in there. They are a bit more skittish trying to get used to the digs. Plus if they DON'T want out, we can't make them

Anywhoo the boys ought to be mucho spoiled.

I think the worst thing about the cage is that it has those bird type doors. YUCK. I'm going to get hubby to fix that out. I don't think it would be too hard.

Yikes. I wanted to udate all on my new cage for the boys!! I posted yesterday and it never showed up
