do rats enjoy wheels?

I have three female rats and none of them will use the wheel. So I was wondering is there a trick to help my rats get the hang of the wheel and if not how well does the ball work. I apologize for asking so many annoying questions but I am new to pet rats.

Maybe they just don't like it.ALOT of rats dislike the wheel.I do not have one for my rats,as I let them roam and play with other things. They are happy with that.

You can keep the wheel in their cage, maybe they will start using it that way.If not, well don't stress it.Rats are really smart and like I mentioned, alot just will not use them.

As for balls, you can try.I have a giant rat ball...but NONE of my rats ever liked it.It is now collecting dust in my closet, because my rats don't like it.

honestly i would let them run around with out a ball, they are big enough to keep track of and you might have a room that is easy to rat proof anyway... none of my rats have ever pottied out either. the balls are so expencive, and i would want one for each rat and that would be too expencive to me

my rats don't give a hoot about the wheels, but they love hanging socks and dishcloths to climb up

I've tried using wheels with my rats but they just sit in it looking silly. Mine just enjoy running round.

I was wondering about the ball because I don't have a room I can rat proof until I am able to move.

Well you can try a ball.If your rat doesn't like it,let her run around your bed,a table or the bathtub.Even the bathroom...thats a small enough room to rat proof.
