First time mouse breeder!

Hello! I am a first time mouse breeder, and I am attempting to breed my beautiful mouse Hailey with a suitable male named Atticus. I wanted to know the exact date of impregnation, so I've been putting them together and watching them for the past 2 days. So far, it looks like nothing has happened. He has tried to mount her on both occassions, but she resists and then he gives up. I realize that she is probably not in heat, which is why they are not mating, but then I realized that I don't know what it would look like for two mice to mate! (I know this may sound like a weird question)...how do you know if two mice have mated? Will it be obvious?

Thank you!

Well, I have never bred mice, so I can't really help you there, but I have a few links that might be useful to you:

Hi i don't mean to be rude but i was just wondering why you are breeding? Also are you aware of the mice's lines and any problems they could have? Did the mice come from a breeder? Were you mentored by a breeder and do you have homes already lined up for the babies? Like i said not to sound rude but there is alot more to breeding then throwing a boy and girl together!
