Had the idea of building a playground and making it so that it can be attached directly to their home, but to be honest, I can just move them from one to the other myself, as for chewing, I have enough spare wood to patch things up as needed, I have lined the floors with aluminium sheets to stop them getting to the sealant, and have reinforced the back to stop them chewing through, moved them in last night, and they seem to be loving it, Hoody seems to be a bit withdrawn at the moment, but I think she will be ok in a couple of days..... Already drawing plans for a bigger one, waiting for permission from the wife to allow me to get a few more friends in soon!

Have had the idea of a new improved version, unfortunately, my plans require building from scratch, it's gonna be quite big, but it means I can incorporate all the things my little friends like to do, will have to convince my wife firstly to let me build it, then let me get some more friends, it's thanks to all the ideas I have got from being on this site! The old home I plan to sell to my friend who sometimes breeds ratties, I want to give the girls a palace! Will start a new thread when I finally get permission to start... my ideas might be of interest to someone?

I'd be very interested in hearing your ideas when (if your wife gives you the okay lol) you start on a new home for your ratties. We're always building cages here, we have so many rats (and other pets) that it is just not feasible for us to use store bought cages anymore. Love to share ideas and tricks to building good cages.

Hope your wife lets you get some more babies! Good luck.
