I Need Help!!!!

I have had a mouse infestation so I bought catch and release traps. I've caught 2 so far and I knew I had one more but then I discovered 4 baby mice! I can't keep them so I need to try to catch the mother so the babies won't die, but she isn't going for the same trap! What should I do now? I've tried putting peanut butter, pizza, cereal and even one of her babies in the trap to try to get her attention but she doesn't care! Please help... These babies don't even have their eyes open yet. Thank you for any advice you can give.

If the momma mouse does come back for them there is a high chance she will eat them. you can try to hand feed them. they need to be in a cage with half off it on a heating pad (set on low) the other half off incase they get too hot. A good temp is about 75-80 degrees in farenheight. Then you can get some KMR aka Kitten Replacement Milk and a cc syringe or an eye dropper to feed them. Dilute the formula 2x than what it says. Be careful not to get any formula in their nose or they can suffocate. They need to be fed every 2-3 hours until they open their eyes then every 4-6 hours will be fine. Good luck. Feel free to pm me with any question.

Thanks for replying Mousey. Why will the mom eat the babies? That's just not right! Is there any way I can prevent this from happening? My fiance won't let me keep the babies so I have to find a way to get the mom to take them so I can release them outside. My dogs want them for a snack so I know I can't keep them in the house. Thanks again for any advice!

Under stress, female mice are prone to cannibalism of their young unfortunately.
