Padfoot is a jewel in the roughPadfoot is a jewel in the roughPadfoot is a jewel in the rough

I'm in trouble...

I was at the petstore yesterday, and one of the suppliers arrived with a group of the tiniest baby ratties.. I was watching and the owner of the store lets me handle them... so I pick one that has missing most of her tail... and she was so cute.... and he says "you know you want it... take it.."... so... I walked with a free rattie (and 2 hamsters... check the hamster forums for that...)

Here are pic of the little girl...

Sleeping on my hand

Sleeping on my lap... lol

Actually awake...

Compared to a 3 week old mouse, to see the small size she has:

I named her Uriel. I have her on KMR cause I'm 100% sure that she's not weaned yet... And I know I should have gotten 2... but I would need one that's missing her tail too, just for the mental sanity of my sister. I keep thinking that I shouldn't have gotten her, and that I should take her back cause I can't provide a companion for her, but then I think that she'll probably end up in a snake's belly... so I'm reading on keeping a lone rat. And wish that I get luck and find another female with her tail missing when I go next time to the store

She is so cute!

Why would she need a cagemate with no tail?

For my sister's mental sanity.... she's afraid of them, and hates the tail most of all.. she simply won't allow one with a tail. No way of reasoning with her about that...

Is the mouse your sister's? Cause you have mice with tails, right?

I'm confused! Lol!

LOL... no.. my sister doesn't own any rodent. She doesn't like any of them... She tolerates the hamsters and gerbils... and lets say that I forget the mention the tiny ones are mice... and since she doesn't pay much attention to them at all, as long as they are in their cages while she's around (hence me staying up till 2:30am, just to clean and hold the rodents... lol) well.. she thinks they are just gerbils... A rat won't pass as easily as a gerbil, though... So rat without the tail is more pleasing to her eye...

Congratulations!
She's a lucky little girl to be home with you. I'm sure since she's missing some of her tail, and the size she is.. well yeah only someone looking to feed their pets belly would be interested

LOL!!! You know that once I thought about that!!! LOL!!!!!

We don't really have much choice of color/type on rats here... just agoutis, blacks, albinos, fawns and I saw doves (or light grey... whatever it is called) for the first time the day I took Uriel... The patterns are self and hooded... nothing else... No dumbo, no rex, no manx, no hairless... no nothing else... 8(

Since your little rattie baby and mousie baby look like they are getting along so well, you could put them together as companions. At that age, they won't know the difference.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
