Hello everyone, i'm brand new here and I wanted to share some pictures of my rats with you. My rat Calcifer had a litter a little over 3 weeks ago, and here are some pictures of my 12 little babies from birth. It's been a little difficult finding homes for them, as this was an unexpected event, but i'm sure it will work itself out.

and they grew and grew! This is around day 9

This is their mother, Calcifer
I'm going to keep her, we named her Lyra (if anyone has read the Golden Compass, you know what i mean)
And my other rat, who's gender is pending (we're taking "him" to the vet this wednesday) is Pantalaimon (another Golden Compass reference)
I was told Calcifer and Pantalaimon were both males and brothers, and when i brought them home, shortly after Calcifer gave birth, so i'm skeptical on Pantalaimon's gender. I'm hoping Pan is a girl though.

You are going to love this group! Thank you so much for sharing your pictures! You and I have something in common! The very first rat that I adopted, I rescued her from being fed to an aligator! AAAGGHH Anyway, I brought her home and about three or four days later, she had twelve babies! 
My husband could have killed me. We did not plan on more than one rat, but we managed and we found homes for them and they all went to loving homes to people who wanted them as PETS, not for food. I love the pictures of the babies you took. It brought back fun memories for me. Thanks again.
