ok..so we got them and they are 4 1/2 weeks old i was told...they are similar to mice,but bigger...they have big old eyes and ears..they're very skittish and i think they were handles very little as babies,but i will change that skittishness.i will get pics as soon as i can.i'm afraid i'll scare them with the flash.

yay babies!! adn dwarf ratties??? man i can't wait for pics!! to fix their skittishness, seriously, wear a sweater then put them in your sleeves, they'll bond to you quickly and think you're a parent. that's what i did, i got my boy at 4 weeks old, barely bigger than a mouse, i put him in my sleeve and he'd just sleep there. they'll also learn your body and find it very comforting

that's a good idea,but whenever i pick them up they squirm and are able to jump out my hands.i'm afraid one's going to end up jumping and hurting herself,but i'll try what you said and be very careful.

If you are nervous, try sitting on the floor in a secure area with them. That way they won't have far to fall if they happen to squirm out. I know what you mean about squirmy, I have two dwarfs and they are just little speed demons.
