I've had rats for years now, but they've always been the same size (all larges, my favorite!). I was down to one rat, named Ben. He's pretty big, and very friendly. I've been searching around for a good friend for him, but had trouble finding one I felt comfortable with. So today when I went to the
local pet store to get him a few things I overheard some of the employees talking about a really cute, friendly male rat. They were sad because he was such a good rat and was probably going to be used for snake food. I went back there and told them that I was a rat lover, kept them as pets, and was searching for one, and I asked them to let me see him. I immediately fell in love with the little guy, so I bought him, and they were soooooooo grateful. I never buy rats from
pet stores, but he's a young, healthy looking fella, so I don't see a problem...aside from the fact that he's half the size of Ben, and will only get a bit bigger. Ben is a teddy bear, and so far has been nothing but nice to him (bathing him, playing with him, sleeping with him, etc.
So is it ok? The size difference won't be a huge problem will it?
By the way, I named him Stewie. He's a gold color and sooo cute.
