Is my rat sick???
My rat is sneezing more than normal but I listened to her breathing and it sounds normal and she acts normal. Her cage was really dirty but I just cleaned it do you think that could of been the problem? Her sneezing is starting to slow down though. HELP!

After repeating their show a couple of times, they pause for a moment to look around with widely flared nostrils, as if to ask: Has everyone seen us? Aren't we simply fantastic? We urge them to move again. They react on the spot, hooves flying with delight.

Excessive sneezing usually means the start of an RI or myco.Rats do sneez sometimes in new surroundings, but if it becomes excessive, then it is most likely the start of illness.

Her sneezing was pretty bad earlier but it is slowing down I will see how it gets tomarrow. Do you think the sneezing could of been caused by the smell of the cage?

Yes,if there was a build up of anomnia (sp?) from pee, that can certainly cause the sneezing.Rats have sensitive noses and lungs and if we can smell a dirty cage, imagine how it is for a rat.

it sounds fine for now, but keep an eye. It could also be the start of an allergy, but it's quite unlikley.

I am trying to keep a close eye on her and I think her sneezing is slowing down.
