Mouse Babies!!!
4 of my mice had babies last week. 8) 3 of them are together, raising a total of 28 babies, the other one is alone (well, with a helper mouse...) raising 2. She had 9 total, but 3 were still borns, and the other 4 died during the first couple of days. 8) They are all first time moms. Here they are:
Here, Caramel with her litter. She was the first to give birth. 8)
Demi, very very pregnant.
Coconut full of mice. The other mom is the grey one you sort of see inside the coconut.
Zoe, taking care of her nephews
Plumita's litter:
And now, a week later, the first babies are getting color!!!
Dad of the first 3 litters is Bleu, my little blue mouse, and it looks like I'll have some blues in this litter. 8)
And this are the parents to the last litter, Plumita, the variegated black and Fry the chocolate broken-marked.

Oh they are so cute!
Are your mice very hand friendly? I had some mice once but they never did tame down.

I prefer baby hamsters as they actually tame up. The only time I had a litter of mice, they all jumped out of my hands and bit me...

No, I handled them a lot. I think they were wild and crazy because my female mouse got out and mated with a wild male in our house. xD What a freak event!

If the mom crossed with a wild mouse, that explains the crazy behaviour!
I have had tons of mouse litters and never had that problem, maybe with the odd few.But if you tame them young, you have wonderful little guys that do not bite!I actually find mice and rats are less likley to bite then hamsters!

I learned also that you have to keep taming them. All my mice were held from almost birth and now they're wild and crazy. The mama is the most tame so I guess she remembered. I kinda feel bad because after I got my rattie, he took most of my attention. I still love my mousies, but I kick myself for not holding them as much as I should.
And Padfoot, you have beautiful mice...I knew you always did from your pics. I hope you have some very cute babies, and remember, that they are ALL beautiful even if they are the basic white
After Shug had her babies, I was so suprised that all the babies were brown with black eyes and she's a PEW. It totally floored me, she had some pretty babies, even though they were all brown. Genetics are funny sometimes.
What are you going to do with all those babies???
