mouse mange question

hi- I am hoping to get some advice about a mouse with mange. When I had 2 mice, one of them starting scratching herself badly with open sores. I brought her to the vet, she received treatment, but unfortunatley the treatment didn't help (various injections and oral antibiotic) and she was put to sleep. I would like to get a friend for the remaining mouse because I think she is lonely, but I am concerned that a new mouse could catch mange. The mouse I have does scratch herself and has mild skin irritation, nothing like the sores the first one had. ? Does anyone have experience with this- will a new mouse be likely to catch mange do you think?
