mouse with allergies, and cage question

That mousey Soma is allergic to ALL bedding but wash cloths and paper!
ever since i brought her home 6 months ago her chest has been rattely. there have been nothing else wrong with her. no squinty eyes, no rough coat, etc. and her cages mates are just fine. she has been to the vet three times! i have changed her bedding many times. she was on woody pet, then aspen, then carefresh, and when i put her on the shredded paper she still wasnt doing well but thats because i didnt give it enought time. i actually ran out of all bedding and had to use wash cloths and she is 101% better. i have never seen her so active before and best of all she doesnt sound like a little mousy motorcylce!

also, do you think those habitrail cages with a few attachments would be pretty good for my adult mice? I have three female mice, i wonder if it would be better for them then my 17.75"W X 12"D X 7"H Lee's Critter Keeper (a rectangle reptile breeder box, clear plasic with vintalation slits and a mesh type locking plastic lid.

Skratikans will become famous soon enough
it would be harder to clean, but i think the habitrail cages are more exciting and more stimulating for the mice.

im glad to hear that Soma is doing much better!

How much ventilation does your cage have? Maybe she would do somewhat better in a cage with more ventilation, wire cage... since ammonia and bedding smell wouldn't concentrate inside the cage as much as in a closed one. Just a thought...
