My Poor Zorro
Zorro doesn't seem to be doing so well these days. He's had the sneezies, and went to the vet last week. He's on antibiotics, but my vet wasn't sure he had an RI at all, he thinks it might be a virus instead. He's got nasal discharge, which the vet thinks may be blood instead of porphyrin (apparently porphyrin glows under a blacklight, and his eyes glowed, but his nose did not).
Anyway, the sneezies cleared up for a couple of days after starting the meds, but now they are coming back, along with a strong-smelling diarrhea. He still takes treats, but often abandons them halfway through eating. It's hard to tell if he's just getting lazy with age, or is feeling lethargic because of sickness.
I guess I will give the vet a call to see if there's anything more I can do for him. If it's a virus, hopefully he can just pull through on his own...

Thanks everyone, he seems to be doing ok today. Still diarrhea, but I'm cutting everything out of his diet except his food (and an occasional treat that I know won't upset his tummy) to see if that helps.

Well, it's the middle of the day now, so he's sleeping, but last night he was looking really good. He's still the chunky one of the pack, so I know he's eating. The diarrhea is much better now, but the stool is still a tad soft. I'm very happy, and I think he'll be fine, at least for the time being.

Zorro was doing well, but we moved back down to where I go to school, and I think it stressed him out pretty bad. He took a turn for the worse, and was not doing well at all this morning. I got him into the vet, luckily, and he's now on aggressive antibiotic treatment, and also got a shot of steroids and a shot of a diuretic to get the fluid out of his lungs. The shots seemed to take effect pretty quickly, so I'm hopeful, but I have to say that this morning I wasn't sure he was gonna make it. He seems much better now, but I guess things are still up in the air.

Zorro had a recheck today and got cleared with a clean bill of health! He's gonna continue his meds for another week, but things are looking good!
