New Rattie
I got him about two weeks ago. My boyfriend and I were at the petstore and we were looking at the rodents. We both saw this little baby rattie that was so cute. Well I put my hand up to the cage and he started trying to walk up to my hand. Then another rat in the cage started beating him up and we've been wanting a male rat for a while now. So he ended up comming home with us. When I get on my computer I will post pics of him. We named him Buddy. He's the sweetest thing ever.

He doesn't have a friend at the moment . I had a few friends that said most of their males get aggressive with their cage mates later on in life. I dunno how true this is though as he is my first male so I wanted other peoples opinions before I get him one. But he does get tons of play time outside the cage. .

As long as their cage is big enough that they can get away from each other when they need some space, you should not have problems with aggression. Some males will be aggressive, as with any species, but unlike other small animal species, male rats generally do well in the company of other males. Good luck finding him a friend!

Buddy looks really sweet! All you need to do now is find buddy a friend! you should not really get aggression, just introduce them to eachother slowly. It should be fine!
Good luck!!

CongRATS! He is really cute and a dumbo too! Yay!
You can get him a friend. It is pretty easy to introduce younger male rats.Male rats are not like male mice and actually do better with company. It is very possible to introduce two non-litter mates.
