New to the rat world

While on vacation visiting my family in Florida I purchased my first rat, Maizy. She is such a sweetie and has taken to my four year old daughter quite well. She made the 10 hour trip from Flroida to Tennessee sitting on my shoulder lol. Once we got home I started reading about rats and soon learned that Maizy would be happier with a companion, so I upgraded to a larger cage and bought Molly. Talk about day and night, Maizy would let me hang her upside down if it made me happy, Molly on the other hand wants nothing to do with any of us. We've only had Molly for a few days so I'm assuming the more I handle her the more she will be accepting of us .....right? I originally had a 10 gal. aquarium for Maizy (which I really didn't like) so when we got Molly I purchased the wire aquarium attachment that has three levels. I like it, but I wish they had had one out of the box to look at, if either one of the girls are in the aquarium part of the cage I have to take the whole stinking top cage off just to get to them, the same goes for adding new toys, or rearranging the toys they have. Well here are some pictures.....

They're both very cute. But which is who? Molly should warm up to you quite a bit as she gets used to her new surroundings and having you around, but she may never be as comfortable with you as Maizy is.

CongRATS on your new rats!

Nara is right, with time Molly should warm up to you. However rats have their own personalities and so as Nara said, she may never be as friendly as the other. You never know tho, just give her a few days!

Anything else you want to know, just ask and we will be happy to answer your questions!
