Opinion on SoCal breeder?

I'm strongly thinking of buying pups from this breeder. Can all you rat people take a look at her website (her FAQ too) and tell me if she seems like a good bet? Thanks =)

I don't think I'd trust this breeder. The site seems very unprofessional. I think they're selling their rats a little too young. It also bothers me a little that they don't have any pictures of thier rats on thier site. I'd try to find a breeder who had a copy of thier contract on the website.

It may just be me though, so I'd wait to see what a couple of other people on here have to say.

What's wrong with the site?

She sent me pics of her rats including the parents and let me look at their pedigrees as well as the contract. I had to fill out a 20 question line-up and give a vet reference before I was approved. I'm not allowed to breed the rats or give them to a rescue - I have to give them back to her if I can't keep them. O.o She SEEMS safe. Also I thought 5-6 weeks was the ideal age for pups to leave mom..? They have to be separated from mom at 5 weeks anyway so she isn't knocked up by her own sons, right?

Btw she also only has a litter every 3 months - or so it seems from watching her site. It's a hobby for her, not a business. To be honest I haven't found a breeder in my area who seems like a better bet...and I'm sure as heck not going to a pet store.

If it's 5-6 weeks that's not too young. Although I'm fairly certain what I read on her site was 4-5.

I didn't see no problems...and if she showed you pics and pedigrees and a contract, then I see nothing wrong.Rat pups shouldn't go to their new homes under 5 weeks!

A vet refference? Wow really? I take my dog to the vet, but I don't see any reason for my rats to visit the vet unless they had an illness. Am I missing something? Should I take them to the vet lol?

Well MANY people take their rats to the vet for check-ups.I ONLY take mine if they get sick, appear to have any problems...etc.I probably SHOULD take them for check-ups,but I don't.I know when it is time to go to the vet,and it is at any sign of a problem or sickness!
