Pregnant?

Hello all!

I've got 2 boy mice that are going to be 7 weeks old this Friday (1/18/08) and I saw one of them was mating with their room mate, a little girl about 4 months old. So my question is, is this little guy old enough to get her pregnant?

I have spare cages and what not, so I'm prepared with separating babies (if she's pregnant) as well as the male (again, if she's pregnant)

They've been together for nearly 4 weeks. Any input?

yeah he's old enough to get her pregnant by now. Females give birth at 21-28 days within mating. Also The babies need to be seperated at 21-28 days. I was just wondering why you had males and females living together? Were you trying to breed? Also boy mice should not live together because as they mature they become very territorial. This can cause alot of fighting in alot of cases a fight till the death. Some boys do get along but it is very rare even for litter mates. Also the femle needs more protein if she is pregnant which you can fget in a milk bone or kitten food. That is vital for the babies survival. If you need more info please let me know. Also if you are trying to breed please do more research on this and breed from quality mice from breeders and not petstores. I hope this info helps.

also I forgot to mention you need to take the males out now before she gives birth. He can get her pregnant right after she gives birth and that is very stressful for the mouse to have two litters back to back. Or it can cause the mommy mouse or daddy to eat the babies and cause severe stress to the momma mouse.

We urge them to move again. They react on the spot, hooves flying with delight.

Seperate the female from the males right now.The female is most likely pregnant by now and IF she isn't...she will be.

You shouldn't be breeding if you don't know what your doing,so seperate them please.Maybe get another female friend for her as well.Female mice are highly social, but males are territorial and will fight. In VERY rare cases, they can live together without problems.
