problem with mouse eye! please help!


my sister is watching the mice from her school and this morning I found that cows(a mouse) eye looked like it was about to fall out! this isnt boggling thats for sure. only one eye did it and didnt stop. her pupil looks like it hal been scratched. Is it an infection?

if anyone knows what to do or has an idea please reply!!!!!

now it looks like the eye went sown BUT he cant realy open it that much and it looks scratched also

i'd suggest a vet asap- they will probably give you some antibiotics and eye ointment. that is probably the safest thing to do for the little mousy...i hope she gets better soon

it is verry hard to find a vet who will work with a mouse

hello again. i couldn't help but notice you are from Connecticut, if i saw that correctly. there is a place named Kensington Bird & Animal Hospital that sees small animals such as mice and rats and other tiny pets. i don't know how far that is form you... hopefully you could find someplace else like this if that is too far away? best of luck! =)

Does anyone think tetracycline might help in a pinch? On this site it is intended for respiratory ingections, but maybe it could work here too, before a vet. (?).

hmm. probably. i'd say tetracycline would work on a lot of infections.
