Ok, my mouse is going to have her babies soon, probably within the next couple of days. My question is, this morning I woke up and she was eating, and she's been eating ever since. I think she's been eating for the past 4 or 5 hours. She hasn't left the food dish. I even had to refill it once so she would have food. My question is, do they eat a lot before they go into labor?
Out of my rodents, mice are the ones that eat the most. That, topped with needing extra energy and protein cause of the growing babies inside her, I think it would be kinda normal that she ate more than usual. However, they should do other activities besides eating, like nest building and that stuff... she's probably getting off the bowl to do other stuff and you haven't happened to catch her doing anything else?
Could be, but it just struck me as odd. she's been building the nest but I was in there for about 2 hours and I heard her eating the entire time. She's really getting huge, I only give her until about wednesday.
