Rattie boys being lazy?
I'm not sure what's going on with my boys of late, they seem to have developed a total lazy streak. I know boys are lazy but these boys are lying down as soon as they touch the cage from my hand.
I've had all the boys out and they are all able to walk fine so i don't think there are any broken bones.
Anyone had the same?

All the boys i have had have been a lot more lazy than the girls and even with a cage full of toys and the best diet they used to lay around until it was play time and then they would burst into life as soon as the cage door was opened or if they smelt me coming with food and treats for them. Do you let them out daily for a good run round? I know my guys used to love that

my rattie boys were very lazy too.
and never played with any toys. i think that at least 1 hour of out of cage play time a day is extreamly important

All of the male rats I have had/have are alot more lazy and laid back then the girls. They have toys galore, but they don't play with them much. When they get out of cage time, they are little mischief makers tho!!! And are alot more active then!

Boys are a lot more active as pups, but they grow out of it and start to laze around . Might be what happened to your ratties.

If it's hot in your house that could also have something to do with it. I've noticed my girls are a lot less active in thier cage now that it's in the upper 80s every day.

My male rat was always less active than the girls that I had. They don't seem to be as high strung as the girls.
