Rough Brown Stripe down my Mouse's Back

No pictures- i just went to feed him and noticed a largish brown stripe down its back ( white common mouse 1.5 years old ) , I picked him up and realized the stripe felt very rough - almost dead. I did not observe any behavorial changes or anything - i also keep him w/ a brown and white fancy mouse.

Does my common mouse have a disease or simply dying?

Should I isolate the 2 mice?

Is there anything that I can do?

That sounds very odd in a white mouse.... Could it be food - or urine or diarrhoea from the other mouse or from lying somewhere messy staining the coat? Have you checked if the skin looks normal under the coat?
If in doubt, take to a vet. Good luck.

the brown one was being stupid and scratching and biting the white one; i seperated them for a week, the white one looked better and after only a few days of them being together the white mouse had dry blood in its fur

they are both solitary again and the white one looks better- thanks for the help

yes, the brown one sticks its nose up the white one's rear and it gets upset and hides
