saved wild mouse baby

well my sister works at our families green house, and she saved a tiny baby mouse that one of the workers was going to step on and kill. she had already killed one this way. well anyway this tiny little thing is so skiny so it wasnt getting enough to eat either. its little tail is just skin and bones. you can litterally see every bone in its tail. i will post a pic of it soon. im not sure what kind of mouse it is though. its back feet are real long and front feet are real short. it almost resembles a little tiny kangaroo.lol. but i am wanting to see if anyone on here has any suggestions on taking care of it. i have had mice before but i wasnt sure if it needed different care seeing as how it is a wild mouse. any suggestions would be appreciated.

is it a pinky or is it furry with eyes and able bodied? sounds like it needs to eat, you can get decent blocks and mixes at your local pet store or wal mart. the thing is, that because this mouse is wild and not domestic, it could be carrying disease that could spread to your other pets.

well i have it eating now on the hamster feed that i have. it is covered in fur. i had thought abiut the possibility of it carrying diseases but i am not handeling it and i dont plan on it. and if i touch its cage or anything in it i sanitize my hands and wash them also. but i have found that it cannot drink from the bottle. i have the tiny bottle and it is too big. do you think it would be ok to put a wet sponge in a saucer or lid and that would be ok for it to get water?

I found 3 mice today but my cat killed 1 and injured another. He died as well so that leaves the little girl.I was very upsdet because my dog joined in as well. She is very lively but looking for her brothers ,I put a toy mouse in with her.I rubbed the scent from her brothers little body and she snuggled up.I can't think about the other 2 now because she needs all my attention.
