So excited!
I just got in touch with a breeder and I'm getting either a siamese or a himalayan! My poor Squiggles won't be alone anymore. She just lost her cagemate and needs a companion, but so far I am keeping her distracted...which is really easy for her the neurotic little Irish she is. She was my first rat and we adopted Dizzy who was older than we realized. We had about five months before she died, she was a weird rat, so now Squiggs is alone. Now squiggs just looks at me whenever I move and gives me the "I'm lonely, give me scritches." look.
Hopefully the little girl I get will cheer her up. By the by anyone have any suggestions on introducing a freshly released young rats from the breeder to six month old full grown rat? Well besides the standards of introducing two rats.

CongRATS!
I have a big seal point siamese boy named Jellyroll!
Anyway don't forget to quaratine the new rat for about 2-3 weeks in a seperate room from Squiggles (cute name BTW).Then once that is over, introduce them on neutral grounds. It is generally easy to introduce a younger rat to an older one.

Thanks! The name has a much darker meaning to it. In a game me and my friends play there is a giant dino/monster named The Squiggith and so we decided to name our tiny terror after it, the The Squiggles. We sometime set up a paper box city for her to destroy, she loves it!

Cute! I recently intro'd two 5 week males to my 1 year old boy, Pierre. Quartentine for 3 weeks, prefferably in a different air space -I used the loft above my 2nd garage - or at least as far away as possible. Then I housed them next to each other for a week, swapping cages everyday. I'm sure you know how to intro, but I found spraying them all with some pet scentsations deoderizer (petco) first so they all smelled the same worked great. Also, make sure they have some toys and somthing yummy to distract them. Be prepared for moderate fights and semi-frightened ratties for about a week. They get to know each other quite fast and end up snuggle buddies! Cant wait to hear about them!
