Tips on cage setup!

Hello!

I REALLY would like to get mice sometime soon. I know the basics of what needs to be in the cage, but any tips on extras?

I have a 10 gallon tank. Toys?

my only advice is to avoid two males! I don't know about the girls, but I had two boys together and they stunk, SO bad. I'll stay with the gerbils!

dont get males

Males smell, as they scent mark everywhere - as soon as you clean their cage, they scent mark it.
i have my male seperate and females together, females tend not to smell as much as males, and live happily together, whereas males will eventually fight - its only natural.
