Took the rats to the vet

I took my babies to the vet today. They had a URI that I wanted to get treated. The vet was a little goofy I guess but he knew what he was talking about. When I said polyphorin he know what I meant.

Well anyway my Tweener (the big baby who doesn't like to be held for any periods of time) contstantly licks the roof of this mouth.....I told this to the vet because it was something that worried me. I know they can do it if they are in respiratory distress. Well the vet really wanted to check it out and make sure the teeth were okay and stuff. The vet decided he wanted to check his gums just to be sure. He took and shoved (well not really shoved but tweener would tell you he shoved) one of those ear things the doctors use? You know to look in your ear...in his mouth. My poor little baby started crying and squeaking and trying to pull it outta there...he had nothing wrong with his gums though

My little jack jack couldn't give a crap and the vet was actually surprised that my 2 year old jack only weight 630 grams when my less then a year old tweener weighed 850 grams. Jack wanted on my shoulder and in my hair and my hoodie hood most of the time.

The cool thing was the whole visit only cost $50 and that was for meds and 2 rats and everything. The vet was really nice.

The really really cool thing was all the vet techs and stuff came into the waiting room to see the rats...

When I take my ratties to the vet, they poop everywhere and one of them shrieks every time the vet tries to handle him. It's always an adventure with small animals at the vet, haha. I'm glad things turned out well for your babies.

I get so frustrated sometimes cause it seems like all the vets near us dont do rats!

After repeating their show a couple of times, they pause for a moment to look around with widely flared nostrils, as if to ask: Has everyone seen us? Aren't we simply fantastic? We urge them to move again. They react on the spot, hooves flying with delight.

I am so happy because I found out the vet that we go to does treat rats... I haven't had a reason to bring them yet, but I'm just happy they do.

My little Tweener cried (I called him teeny.....because he's so big...haha)..

Well anyway he hid in his little carry case as long as he could...he got poked and prodded the most but I was so worried about his mouth thing.

My jack jack wanted on my shoulder the entire time. He took everything like an expert (his first time to the vet!) and the vet just laughed everytime he turned around and jack was in my hair or in my hood or whatever...LOL
