Trip to the vets today :(
I had to take my youngest boy smudge to the vets today he has developed a serious head tilt  It transpires he has got an inner ear infection which is what i thought. They gave him 2 lots of antibiotics at the vets and i have a 6 day course of meds for him here. He didnt like the injections much bless his little heart he kept running and going in my pocket. I felt so bad but i need him to get better! His balance is starting to go all off on his right side where his head is tilted so much xxxx

Horses simply love running around.They enjoy flexing their muscles, arching their tails in the air, rising up powerfully on their hind legs, and then thundering off at full speed. In between the gallop strides they buck exuberantly and toss their heads joyfully. After repeating their show a couple of times, they pause for a moment to look around with widely flared nostrils, as if to ask: Has everyone seen us? Aren't we simply fantastic? We urge them to move again. They react on the spot, hooves flying with delight.

Thanks for all your messages. I started his meds this morning and i gotta continue for 6 days. Lets hope he does get better and his head tilt goes coz he is losing balance bless him

Well its been 4 days now and he is still no better his head is still majorly tilted so it look like he is gonna have to go back after he has finished this course of meds and see what they say! My poor little bubba!

He seems better now!! Its day 6 of the meds and his head seems to be straightening up!! He absolutely hates me now tho for forcing him to take the meds!!!!

I'm glad he's getting better. What antibiotic is he on? Have you tried mixing it in baby food, pudding, or mashed avocado or banana? Sometimes they'll take it that way. Also, sometimes you can mix into something thick like the mashed banana and rub the necessary dosage on the back of their ear or their back or something. Even a rat that doesn't want to eat medication can't help but groom something sticky off and they usually end up eating most of it in the meantime.

He is on Baytril. he takes it when i give him it but he dont want to play with me for ages after coz he is peeved lol he will be ok when he realises i have made him better!
