Uncertain Fate

I'm not sure how long this little deer mouse has in this world. I just found that its bleeding lightly from its tail, which looks scratched, and its not using one of its back legs right. It hasn't moved from its spot and it hasn't drinken any water or anything. Sadness, but maybe its better. I'm sure it wouldn't be happy being kept in a cage but I don't know if it'll be able to live outside. Darn, what a downer.

I'm no deer mouse expert, but
I say keep in a cage and put it somewhere outside, that's nice and dark, and has grass, and fresh air. This way he remains safe from predators, but feels more safe being outside.
Then just see if he survives the night =\

Nope, but I let him (I didn't even check the gender, but somehow the name Stuart stuck without us having tried) out in the field a little away from my house. I know at least that my cats wont be able to get it, and lets just hope it stays away from everything else around here.

I knew Stuart was doing better when he reared up to bite me when I was trying to push him out of the cage.

Heh heh, you always know when a mouse is doing better when they have enough fight to bite =3
