Vet Visit
Well today was Milenko's vet visit...what a day.
It was supposed to be at 2:30pm,but we didn't get seen until 4pm! Some guys brought a dog in with parvo and put her on the floor, risking every other dog's life - so there was alot of commotion today.
When we finally did get seen it was with a new vet and while she was nice, she didn't see many rats and unfortunatly I had to tell HER a few things.Fortunatly the other vets were there,so Milenko was okay. The new vet wanted me to pay an extra $60 for a x-ray because of course Milenko wasn't showing any RI symptoms today! Thats just my luck,he hid his symptoms! LOL. But I told her I didn't think that was really nessicary, because EVERY rat I had with an RI or myco never had to have an x-ray done. After awhile,I was finally given antibiotics for everyone and that was that.Milenko behaved himself and actually didn't seem to stressed,he just wanted to sleep!
What a day tho.My bill was only $75 tho,to my suprise.

$70 is a good price. I paid $80 for a vet visit and antibiotics for 3 rats. My vet is really nice, she told me that she worked in a lab where they watched rats that were 3+ years. The vet tech wanted to put down Scofield and she pretty much said he was just old and could be treated

Well the only ratty that will take his meds with no problems is Milenko.I put the dose in some apple sauce and he licks it all up.
Everyone else KNOWS there is something in the apple sauce and refuse to lick it up,so I have to force the meds down their throats. They totally hate that and hate me for doing it,but thats the only way I know they get it.

man just to get a rat or a mouse in the door of a vets office is $50-$65 not including the check-ups. But then again rodents are not common pets here. Anyways I'm glad everything worked out in the end.

Their meds end on tuesday. They have been taking the meds and their lungs have cleared up nicely. They still do have a little congestion from time to time, but nothing like it was.
